Dr. Mohammad Pashaei promoted to Research Scientist at CBI

Dr. Mohammad Pashaei has been promoted to Research Scientist at the Conrad Blucher Institute for Surveying and Science (CBI) at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, effective January 1, 2024.

Dr. Pashaei received his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering-Surveying from Tehran Polytechnic University, Tehran, Iran (2005), and his Master of Science in Photogrammetry from the University of Tehran, Tehran, Iran (2009). He received his Ph.D. in Geospatial Computer Science at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi in 2021.

Dr. Pashaei’s research spans terrestrial and aerial mapping systems, focusing on photogrammetric and lidar remote sensing. He has experience in remote sensing for mapping including traditional and close-range photogrammetry and UAS-based mapping techniques, sensor fusion, and geospatial data analysis using machine learning and deep learning frameworks. During his postdoctoral research, Dr. Pashaei concentrated on geospatial information retrieval from various spatial data, including full-waveform lidar data, UAS-SfM Photogrammetry, and UAS-lidar point clouds.

Dr. Pashaei will continue his work as part of CBI’s Measurement Analytics Lab (MANTIS), complementing and expanding research strengths of the lab and advancing CBI’s mission. As a Research Scientist, he will support project deliverables through research and technical report writing, serve as a principal investigator or co-investigator on research projects, supervise and mentor employees and student researchers, manage projects, and write proposals to secure external funding.
