As an Assistant Research Scientist with CBI’s Measurement Analytics (MANTIS) Lab, José conducts and leads research in remote sensing, geospatial science, artificial intelligence, 3D reality capture, and related technologies in support of MANTIS and CBI research initiatives.

 As a principal or co-principal investigator, he manages sponsored research projects, oversees project deliverables, and contributes to the development of new research methods, tools, and applications. José also supervises and mentors staff and student researchers, collaborates with project sponsors and research partners, and supports efforts to expand MANTIS and CBI’s research and funding opportunities.

José is a Ph.D. candidate in the Geospatial Computer Science program at TAMU-CC. He received both his bachelor’s degree in Geographic Information Science and master’s degree in Geospatial Systems Engineering from TAMU-CC. His research has centered on integrating multimodal remote sensing and GeoAI for model updating, with a primary focus on transportation. He also serves as president of the ASPRS Student Chapter at TAMU-CC.
