Mason has been part of the CBI team since August 2025, where he began working as a Student Research Assistant with CBI’s Field Research Operations Group (FROGs). As a Field Research Operations Associate, he helps maintain and deploy the expansive network of environmental monitoring stations along the Gulf Coast.

Mason has been a member of the Islander community since transferring to TAMU-CC from Southern Arkansas University in 2021. While attending TAMU-CC, Mason worked as a student research assistant with both CBI and the Harte Research Institute (HRI), gaining hands-on experience in field and research operations. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science with a concentration in Marine and Coastal Resources in the fall of 2025.

Outside of work, Mason enjoys shark fishing along the Gulf Coast and volunteering at shoreline restoration events with HRI.
