As part of has the CBI Analytics & Technology Solutions (CATS), Khoi works in software development and artificial intelligence for Nurdle Patrol, a citizen science project, and contributes to the implementation and operation of various in-house software initiatives across CBI.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Vietnam and a Master of Science in Geospatial Engineering Systems from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.
Khoi began his career as a Software Developer in 2019, specializing in front-end and back-end development, as well as designing and implementing large-scale systems. He joined CBI as a Graduate Research Assistant in 2023, and contributed significantly to Nurdle Patrol, enhancing the Nurdle Patrol website and mobile application. He also conducted research for Nurdle Count in collaboration with the Spatial Query Lab, where he applied deep learning techniques to detect nurdles using smartphone cameras.
